Colombia Holidays Overview

Now is the time to book Colombia holidays. Having been overshadowed in the past by South America’s more well known destinations its popularity is growing thanks to improved safety and infrastructure over recent years. Our tailor-made Colombia holidays deliver a fascinating mixture of Caribbean culture, colonial history and modern day living. Add in the stunning scenery of the Andes mountains, jungle and pristine beaches and it’s easy to appreciate the Colombian Tourist Board’s slogan “the only risk is wanting to stay”. Our advice is to travel to Colombia now before everyone else hears about how wonderful it is.

Colombia Highlights

The Caribbean coast with colourful Cartagena and Tayrona National Park. the undulating hills of the Coffee region and quirky little towns and villages of the highlands.

Tailor Your Trip

  • Slow down the pace and add a few days on the small island of Providencia in the Caribbean
  • Head south west of Bogota to the pre-colombian ruins at San Augustin and attractive town of Popayan
  • When temperatures soar cool off in the small but superb Gold Museum in Cartagena
  • Witness the incredible social transformation of Medellin

Combines Well With

Although the land borders are not always easy to cross, Bogota’s international airport is very well connected to the rest of South America. In particular Peru and Ecuador for the mainland and Galapagos islands work very well. Avianca have recently announced a new direct flight between Bogota and Cuzco so now you don’t need to go via Lima to combine with Machu Picchu.

Recent Review

This really was the holiday of a lifetime and thanks to expedition leader Hannah and her fantastic team was  it was a magical experience. The scenery and wildlife were breathtaking and  the history of polar exportation, and my hero Sir Ernest Shackleton in particular was vividly, brought to life. To be able to follow his journey and pay my respects to him at his graveside in South Georgia was very emotional and something I will never forget.
