There is time to explore the local market before our vehicle takes us to Lamay lodge for the night.

Today we hike one of the most beautiful trails in the Cusco region. We begin at the quaint village of Quiswarani and hike to the Abra Huchuyccasa pass. Here we have amazing views of distant mountains and turqoise lakes. After another pass we have a leisurely lunch at Qeywaqocha Lake. At the end of the day’s hiking our vehicle takes us to Huacawasi and our comfortable lodge.
Total hiking time including lunch: 6.5 hours
Huacawasi is a village famous for its beautiful textiles. We are immersed in the community while we begin walking today alongside children on their way to school and ladies weaving. We hike to Lake Ipsaycocha where we hope to spot condors while we eat lunch. Continuing our descent we reach Patacancha where our vehicle is waiting to take us to the Inca town of Ollantaytambo.
Ollantaytambo has changed little since Inca times and this morning we have time to explore both the ruins and town. Later we take the train to Aguas Calientes and enjoy a leisurely afternoon at our beautiful hotel. Optional afternoon additonal visit to Machu Picchu.
