Day 1. Buenos Aires
Arrive into Buenos Aires, private transfer to your hotel. After checking in and some time to relax you will be taken to a top wine bar for your introduction to Argentina’s famous Malbec and Torrontes wines. We include dinner afterwards at a restaurant on the bustling waterfront.
Day 2. Buenos Aires City Tour
Buenos Aires is a city of contrasts. Today you will see the historic arty district of San Telmo, the upmarket Recoleta area and the famous cemetery where Eva Peron is buried. The afternoon includes a visit “La Cava del Querandí” wine club to sample premium wines of Argentina’s different wine regions. In the evening you will be treated to a superb Tango show while you enjoy dinner.
Day 3. Mendoza Tour and Winery
After a morning flight to Mendoza, lunch will be served at the superb restaurant of the Ruca Malen Winery. There will be some time to explore the centre of Mendoza before heading to 1884 Restaurant where Chef Francis Mallmann blends the finest culinary traditions of France and South America.
Day 4. Mendoza: Uco Valley Wineries
This morning you will be taken to the Uco Valley. After lunch you will visit the winery and walk through the vineyards with incredible views to the Andes and the Tupungato Volcano.
Day 5. Mendoza: Clos de los Siete
Today we head for one of the valley’s finest wineries, Clos de los Siete ,a joint wine adventure initiated a few years back by the world famous French winemaker Michel Rolland. You will enjoy a typical Argentine Asado (barbecue), delicious Empanadas (meat pies) and the Bodega’s exquisite blend, while you gaze at the magnificent Andes in the background.
In the afternoon you have the option of a gentle horseback ride in the Andean foothills or simply an afternoon of leisure in these magnificent surroundings.
Day 6. Santiago de Chile City Tour
A short flight this morning takes you to Santiago de Chile, the capital city of Chile. After a tour of the city your guide will take you to the central market for lunch, here you can sample the superb seafood that is one of Chile’s best kept secrets. The afternoon and evening are at your leisure.
Day 7. Colchagua Valley Wineries
Departing Santiago this morning, today’s destination is the Colchagua valley. Lunch is taken at the Viu Manent Winery, afterwards vintage horse-drawn carriages will leisurely take you around the vineyard, exploring the grounds and plantations. You will have the chance to try some of the vineyard’s top wines before dinner at Los Varietales. Here the cuisine, conceived by chef Hernán Hernández, is based on contemporary versions of traditional Chilean dishes.
Day 8. Colchagua Valley: Laura Hartwig
This morning you have the opportunity to visit the Colchagua Museum before lunch at Hacienda Lolol, in the surroundings of the small Lolol Village, a typical town of the Huaso culture. Later on, we head for Laura Hartwig, a boutique winery ranked among the very top Chilean wine labels.
Day 9. Maipo Valley
Morning transfer south to Curicò, the city was founded in 1743. Just outside we the city we visit Alta Cima , a family-run boutique winery dedicated to the production of fine wines. Lunch is at Colo Colo, in the town of Romeral. This simple restarutant is known amoung locals for its Plateadas (beef casserole), said to be the best in the whole country. After lunch you will be taken to your hotel, Casa Silva and there will be time to relax on the patio as you taste their top Carmenere. A farewell dinner will be served in the evening.
Day 10. Fly home:
Transfer to the airport for your international flight home.
