Day 1. La Paz
Arrive into La Paz, transfer to your hotel.
Day 2. Bus and Train to Uyuni
Travel by train and bus over the high plains of the Andes to Uyuni, a town on the edge of the Salar de Uyuni (salt flats).
Day 3. Salar de Uyuni
A whole day visiting the highlights of the area including the town of Colchani where the local people still produce salt, Tunupa volcano and Fish Island with its unique habitat.
Day 4. Potosi
Drive through the Andes to the mining town of Potosi. Free afternoon to explore the town including its colonial churches and the original royal mint, now a superb museum.
Day 5. Cerro Rico Tour
Morning optional visit to the Cerro Rico silver mine. The mine is still working and you can enter the mountain to see how the locals still mine. These days most of the silver is gone but they still mine for minerals. The experience of this living museum is quite sobering and certainly fascinating. Afternoon drive to Sucre.
Day 6. Sucre Tour
Morning tour of this beautiful colonial city which his where independence was declared and where the Government and Treasury sit. Free afternoon for further exploration and visit to the textile museum.
Day 7. Fly to La Paz
Transfer to airport for your flight to La Paz to connect with your international flight home.
