Day 1. Lima
Arrive into the capital city of Lima, private transport to your hotel.
Day 2. Pucusana
Drive to Pucusana, a traditional fishing village situated about an hour south of Lima. We take a short boat trip around the headland where we may be able to spot penguins, sea lions and many other sea birds including Boobies. Afterwards we watch the fishermen bringing in their catch of the day before returning to Lima.
Day 3. Cusco
Fly to Cusco and transfer to your hotel. We suggest you take it easy today to get used to the high altitude. If you do feel like a stroll there are shops, restaurants and museums within a short walk of your hotel.
Day 4. Cusco City Tour
Half day tour of Cusco and the outlying Inca sites with the option of a gentle hike in the countryside.
Day 5. Sacred Valley Tour
Full day tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas including Pisac market and Ollantaytambo. We also get up close to Llamas and Alpacas and see some traditional weaving. There may be an opportunity to visit a community where a guinea pig farming project has been set up to help the locals recover from the floods of 2010. Overnight in Sacred Valley.
Day 6. Sacred Valley Activity Day
Today you have the choice of either horse riding, mountain biking or a walk in the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas. Alternatively you may choose to simply relax and explore the surrounding area in your own time. Overnight in Sacred Valley.
Day 7. Machu Picchu Tour
The big day! Train to Aguas Calientes town, then bus up to Machu Picchu for a private guided tour of the site. Return to Aguas Calientes town by bus for overnight in hotel.
Day 8. Revisit Machu Picchu
We include another day's entrance to Machu Picchu so that you can explore further at your own pace and perhaps walk up to the famous Sun Gate which offers superb views over the entire citadel. In the afternoon you will return to Cusco.
Day 9. Amazon Jungle
Transfer to Cusco airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado. Transfer by motorised canoe to your comfortable lodge set deep in the pristine Amazon rainforest.
Day 10. Amazon Jungle
In the Jungle there are various activities including nature walks, educational talks, a boat trip to spot Caiman and nocturnal nature trails. All meals and activities are included.
Day 11. Lima
Return to Puerto Maldonado for your flight to Lima. Overnight Lima.
Day 12. Lima Open Top Bus Tour
A relaxing end to your trip with a tour around the capital city in an open top bus. This is a great way for families to see the city. In the evening you have the option to visit the sound and light show at the water fountain park (does not run every day, please ask for more information).
Day 13. Fly Home
Transfer to the airport for your international flight home.
