Day 1. La Paz
Arrive into La Paz, transfer to your hotel.
Day 2. Tiauanaco and La Paz Walking Tour
Morning visit to the important site of Tiauanaco, a site of huge stones from a powerful culture that pre-dated the Incas. Return to La Paz for a gentle walking tour of fasinating La Paz, including the famous Witch's Market.
Day 3. Copacabana
Drive to Copacabana on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The town has been an important pilgrimage site for centuries and people still go to the cathedral to get their vehicles blessed. Copacabana is set in a beautiful location on the shores of Lake Titicaca- where the Andean people belive the world was born.
Day 4. Isla del Sol
Full day boat trip to the Island of the Sun on Lake Titicaca. Legend has it that it was here that the Incas rose up from the deep blue sparkling waters and went on to Cusco where they founded their empire.
Day 5. Puno
Drive to Puno in Peru. Afternoon visit to the floating Uros islands. The islands are made entirely from reeds and are home to Aymara people with their own distinct culture and unique way of life.
Day 6. Cusco
Travel accross the high Andean plains to Cusco visiting sites of interest along the way, including pretty mountian villages and huge Incan sites.
Day 7. Cusco Tour
Afternoon tour of Cusco and its outlying Inca sites. You will also see the Cathedral and Koricancha, the most important temple of the sun in Inca times.
Day 8. Sacred Valley
Full day spent exploring the Sacred Valley of the Incas. There are superb shopping opportunities at Pisac market, as well as the imposing ruins of Ollantaytambo to explore. Includes lunch.
Day 9. Machu Picchu Private Tour
The train journey to Machu Picchu is a delight in itself as you descend from the Sacred Valley down into the lush cloud forest. Today you have a private tour of Machu Picchu with a local guide, afterwards you may like to visit the thermal baths in Aguas Calientes town.
Day 10. Machu Picchu
We include a second day to give you ample time for personal exploration, perhaps some gentle hiking and of course plenty of photo taking! Afternoon return to Cusco by train and bus.
Day 11. Lima Tour
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima. Afternoon tour taking in the full spectrum of neighbourhoods and sights that make up this cosmopolitain city.
Day 12. Fly home
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
