Arrive into the capital city of Lima, private transport to your hotel.
Soar above the shopping center, hotels and dramatic cliffs of Miraflores, Lima on a tandem flight with a fully qualified instructor.
Fly to Juliaca, transfer to Puno. We recommend you take the rest of the day easy to help acclimatise to the high altitude.
You will be met at your hotel and taken by boat to begin kayaking with an expert guide to the island of Taquile. It takes 2 - 3 hours but you can always opt to do a shorter stretch and continue in the support boat if you prefer. Overnight in basic accommodation on Taquile island.
Exploring the island and its fascinating indigenous Quechua community by boat and on foot.
Transfer to the airport for your flght to Cusco. Afternoon guided walk around the city.
You will travel by car to the high pass above the Lares valley before descending by road and track to the small town of Lares. Then carrying on we reach the welcome hot springs where you can relax those tired muscles. Our camp is conveniently located right next to the hot springs. Today's descent is graded easy so suitable for anybody with some mountian biking experience.
Leaving our bikes we take to walking to discover the local communities that live in this remote area. Surrounded by snow peaks we walk passed azure blue lakes and herds of grazing alpaca. The trek is moderate with a high pass of just over 4000m.
Today we continue crossing over a pass of 4800m before descending to the pretty town of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley of the Incas where we will stay the night.
An early train takes you through lush cloud forest to the town of Aguas Calientes. To save time we take a bus up to Machu Picchu where you will have a guided tour. In your free time afterwards you may like to walk up to the Sun Gate or to the Inca Bridge for more views onto the citadel. Late afternoon train and bus back to Cusco.
Transfer to the airport for your flght to Lima where you will connect with your homebound flight.
