  4. There are more than 2,900 volcanoes
  5. The Chinchorro mummies discovered in the Camarones valley are the oldest in the world dating back 7000 years
  6. The Atacama desert is the driest in the world but every 5 to 7 years it blooms into the flowering desert. A carpet of flowers that can last up to 4 months
  7. The south of Chile has more than 270 hot springs. The highest concentration of hot springs on the continent
  8. More than 200 varieties of potato grow in Chile
  9. Over 7km of lava tunnels have been mapped under Easter island
  10. It is one of a few countries in the world that has its own government supported UFO research program
