After five years of travelling and tour leading in Latin America Stephanie Kitchin founded Into Latin America in 2009 while living in Cusco, Peru. Now UK based and working with a small, friendly and dedicated team of South America travel specialists, our aim is for clients to enjoy an authentic and genuine travel experience.
Our trips are for clients who wish to truly appreciate the culture, places and environment of Latin America. We don’t do set departures or large bus tours. Instead enjoy your own private transfers, private and small group tours with the best local guides. You will stay in hand-picked hotels and lodges allowing you to appreciate the culture, places and environment of Latin America without worrying about the logistics. We are passionate about responsible travel and take steps to ensure that our trips have a minimal impact on the country and the locals you visit. To learn more, read our Responsible Tourism policy.
We have worked and travelled extensively in Latin America and continue to explore; from the jungles of Costa RIca to the heights of the Andes and the icy wilderness of Antarctica. Through this experience we bring the best that this magnificent continent has to offer the discerning traveller. We are always up to date on the latest hotels, tours and new experiences with regular contact with industry experts, hotels and suppliers.
We pride ourselves on our expertise and attention to detail. We like to talk to clients over the phone or in person to carefully plan each trip. This, combined with our expertise ensures that each of our trips is as unique as each of our clients. You will have the same travel consultant throughout, from the planning stage to when you return home. We receive excellent feedback and put our success down to our meticulous planning, knowledge and our ability to listen. Read our reviews to find out what our clients are saying about us.
All of our trips are fully financially protected by our membership of the Travel Trust Association and certain trips are also protected by our ATOL license. We are members of the Latin America Travel Association who regularly monitor health and safety standards throughout the continent. Over the years we have established strong bonds with our trusted local agents. We work with fully trained guides, drivers and support staff. We regularly travel to Latin America for training and updates.
As in any country, occasionally travel in Latin America can be disrupted by things out of our control such as bad weather or strikes. We are always keeping a close eye on what is going on in the region and if we or our ground teams envisage there to be any disruption to your trip we will act quickly to adapt your travel arrangements. Rest assured you will be well looked after from start to finish.
Local Guides make up an essential part of our trips and add will add their own special, personal touch to your experience. Ronald lives in Cusco, Peru. He studied Travel and Tourism at Cusco University. He has worked as a guide for several of the Amazon lodges but now concentrates most of his time in and around Cusco and Machu Picchu. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of birds and wildlife as well as being passionate about the history of the region.
Stephanie Kitchin first travelled to Peru in 2009 while working as a tour leader. Having always dreamed of visiting Machu Picchu it didn’t disappoint and got her hooked on Latin America. Always keen to explore on foot or bike, Steph has trekked her way around the continent and most recently took to the high seas to experience the Galapagos islands. She founded the company with a vision to bring more people to the continent and experience the places she knows and loves so well.
Rosemary has worked in the world of Latin America travel for over 20 years. She first worked in Chilean Patagonia helping to organise horse riding trips and has travelled extensively since. Her daughter has joined her on many of her trips and has not only caught the travel bug but also enjoys helping to inspect hotels. She specialises in family and luxury travel and knows how important the little details are in making every trip she organises an extraordinary one.
Natalie has over 20 years of experience working in the travel industry, from inbound tourism, tour operators, retail student travel and business travel. Now working at Into Latin America with her attention always in the detail, you can be certain that your tailor made holiday is cared for from start to finish. Although Natalie has travelled to many different places, she’s never been to Costa Rica and is looking forward to Steph recognising the need to send her there on a fact finding mission. Preferably for the luxury end of the market with a stay at Pacuare Lodge!
