Day 1. Arrive Managua

We will pick you up from the airport in a private car and take you to your private hotel.

Day 2. Managua and Leon City Tours

Discover the eventful history of Nicaragua on your tour of the city of Managua. You then continue north to Leon: the cultural capital of Nicaragua and home to some excellent museums, galleries and the truly remarkable Leon Cathedral. Your professional English speaking guide will take you on a tour of the highlights of Leon.

Day 3. Cerro Negro and Pacific Beach

Visit Cerro Negro for a short hike on top of the volcano and a peek into the crater lakes at the top. Cerro Negro has become the place to practice the new sport of volcano surfing. Enjoy the views over Managua and to the pacific before heading down and on to the pretty beach town of La Penitas.

Day 4. San Jacinto and Sleva Negra

Head up int the Nicaraguan Highlands. On the way there is a stop at the bizarre volcanic mud pools of San Jacinto. You will stay the night in Selva Negra reserve and coffee plantation surrounded by thick cloud forest and an abundance of birdlife.

Day 5. Masaya Volcano

Wake up to some of the best coffee in the Americas and watch the birdlife from your own bungalow. You have some free time to explore the Selva Negra reserve before heading on to the beautiful city of Granada. On the way you will stop at Masaya Volcano. Take a peek into this active volcano and see the smoke, and sometimes, red lava below.

Day 6. Granada and Isletas Tour

Granada is a lovely city of quiet cobbled streets and magnificent buildings. You will have a guided tour in the morning. Granada is located on the edge of huge Lake Nicaragua. Off shore are hundreds of tiny islands called Las Isletas. On your boat trip you will visit these picturesque islands.

Day 7. Ometepe Island

Travel by ferry across Lake Nicaragua to the laid back island of Ometepe. Dominated by two volcanoes and covered in tropical forest, Ometepe has a feel and atmosphere all of its own. Visit Charco Verde Reserve and then continue to a hilltop finca – farm- to observe the interesting petroglyphs, testimony of the strong pre-Columbian “Nahoa” activity in Ometepe. Overnight in your beachfront hotel.

Day 8. Fly Home

We will take you to the capital, Managua, for your flight home. The end of a wonderful Nicaragua holiday!
